Pet Drive

During this year’s Independence Celebration, the City is partnering with Five Acres Animal Shelter to host a pet supply drive! Residents and visitors are encouraged to drop off supplies from June 29 through July 10.

Donations can be dropped off at City Hall during normal business hours or on Saturday, July 4 at the Red Barn concessions window during the event. 

Help support local pets in need while enjoying the festivities! Any additional resources received will be used by the Five Acres AniMeals Pet Food Pantry to assist families with pets throughout the county.

Meet Redd

Redd has been in Five Acres’ care for nearly a year, making him their longest-staying resident and a true volunteer favorite. Thanks to a generous supporter, his adoption fee has already been covered.

At almost three years old, Redd was transferred from Gateway Pet Guardians last April after being found as a stray in Washington Park in November 2024. He’s currently thriving in a foster home, and the team is eager to find him the loving forever home he deserves.

Meet Cookie

Cookie has been in Five Acres’ care since October and is currently their longest-staying cat. She’s a shy girl who was returned after five years in a home.

Once she warms up, Cookie is a loving lap cat who enjoys staying close. She’s also playful and loves wand toys and treats.
